– Jennifer Keishin Armstrong

New York Times bestselling author and pop culture historian Jennifer Keishin Armstrong reached out because her existing WordPress site had become difficult to update herself. She wanted a modern redesign that reflected her prolific output—spanning books on television history, pop icons, true crime, and more—while making ongoing maintenance effortless and better highlighting her work as a speaker, journalist, and media commentator.

We rebuilt the site with a scalable book model (easy to add future titles), integrated social media feeds for real-time engagement, and organized sections for her speaking engagements, journalism clips, extensive press coverage, and reader connections. The result is a polished, professional hub that positions her as a leading voice in entertainment and cultural history.

The Challenge: Jennifer’s old site no longer supported easy content updates for new books, articles, or events, and its architecture didn’t showcase her full range: multiple published works, speaking gigs, journalism portfolio, and media features. It needed to feel current, authoritative, and reader-friendly for fans, event bookers, editors, and publishers—without requiring constant designer help.

My Solution: We created a clean, high-end design with strong visual hierarchy, modern typography, and a vibrant yet professional palette inspired by her pop culture subjects. The layout centers her books as the core draw while providing seamless navigation to speaking, press, journalism, and social proof—ensuring she can add/update content independently via intuitive WordPress tools.

Results: The refreshed site empowers Jennifer to manage her online presence effortlessly while elevating her brand as a NYT bestselling author. It drives book sales/discovery, attracts speaking opportunities, amplifies her journalism and press mentions, and fosters stronger reader connections through integrated social feeds. The transformation has been described as “satisfying and transformative,” perfectly aligning with her dynamic career.

Critical Elements Delivered:

  • Scalable books section featuring all published titles (with covers, synopses, reviews, purchase links, and easy addition for future releases)
  • Dedicated areas for Speaking (upcoming/past engagements), Journalism (clips and bylines), and Press/Media coverage
  • Social media integration (feeds or icons) to showcase real-time activity and connect with readers/fans
  • About/bio page highlighting her NYT bestseller status, pop culture expertise, and journalist credentials
  • Strong calls-to-action for book inquiries, speaking bookings, media contact, and newsletter signups
  • Responsive, mobile-optimized design for on-the-go readers, agents, and event planners
  • SEO-friendly structure targeting “journalist author website,” “pop culture history book site,” and Armstrong-specific terms
