Project Description
Custom, quick-turnaround site to give Pulitzer-winning journalist full control over his work showcase and story-tip submissions.
This looks fabulous. I can’t believe you turned this around so quickly. It’s really what I was hoping for: clean, elegant, inviting.
– Ken Armstrong
Award-winning journalist and author Ken Armstrong, known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporting and impactful nonfiction books, had been relying on an outlet-provided landing page that limited his ability to fully feature his breadth of work. He contacted me with clear ideas for content and a key need: an easy, prominent way for sources to submit story tips. We built a new, self-controlled website from the ground up that highlights the quality, depth, and unique voice of his journalism—spanning investigative pieces, true crime collaborations, and long-form narratives—while providing a professional, inviting platform for readers, editors, and tipsters.
The Challenge: Ken needed independence from outlet-hosted pages to curate and present his full body of work authentically. The transition required a site that conveyed credibility and impact (matching his Pulitzer-level reputation), supported confidential story tips securely and prominently, and felt clean/elegant without unnecessary complexity— all delivered on a fast timeline to meet his active career demands.
My Solution: We created a restrained, high-end journalistic design with strong typography, neutral professional palette, and intuitive hierarchy that lets his stories and voice take center stage. The layout includes dedicated showcases for his articles/books, a seamless contact/story-tips form, and an overall inviting tone that builds trust for potential sources and collaborators.
Results: The new site gives Ken complete control and a polished online presence that reflects his stature as a leading investigative journalist. It effectively showcases his work’s quality and impact, streamlines tip submissions, and provides an elegant hub for professional connections. The quick turnaround and final result exceeded expectations: “This looks fabulous. I can’t believe you turned this around so quickly. It’s really what I was hoping for: clean, elegant, inviting.”
