Writer, journalist, speaker & podcaster Virginia Sole-Smith had an existing website from 2012, which is quite old in internet years. Her new book, The Eating Instinct: Food Culture, Body Image, and Guilt in America prompted her to get in touch with me about a website overhaul to not only bring her site into the present day, but also make it easier for her to update, and flexible as her career evolves moving forward.
She wanted a design that was feminine, strong, iconic, smart, and approachable. She has wonderful headshots that we used throughout the site in both color and black-and-white that are the main visual element other than her book cover. I used color and typography to extend her existing brand while making it feel more fresh.
Kate McMillan did such an amazing job on my new website and was a total delight to work with. Writer friends/creative types, check her out!
